01. The Challenge
A Hyde Park bungalow, also within a historic overlay, where a previous contractor had used modern flat tile to patch an original clay roof. The mismatch was visible from the street and the detailing at the valleys had been done badly enough to leak.
The homeowners had a compliance notice from the review board and an active leak above a bedroom, which meant the fix had to be both correct and quick.
02. What we did
We removed the incorrect tile, rebuilt both valleys with new copper, replaced the underlayment across the affected slopes, and relaid matched clay tile sourced to the original profile and colour range.
- Full moisture survey of the existing deck
- Phased installation around tenant operations
- Daily photo log shared with the owner
- Single project manager, single phone number
- County inspection booked before tear-off began
03. The Result
The leak stopped with the first repair visit under a temporary cover, and the permanent work was finished inside nine days.
The compliance notice was closed out, and the roof now reads as a single consistent surface rather than a patchwork.
